Microwave Cooking for One by Marie T Smith

Mail Bag

I have received some interesting emails since this site began on August 12, 2000. I have compiled some of them along with my responses.  Perhaps, I have already answered a question you might have. My inbox has become so inundated with spam, that it is often difficult to identify valid emails from visitors to the site. To solve this problem, on June 4, 2005, we started a forum for our visitors to post questions, and share information about microwave cooking. The forum worked very well as a way of communicating for quite a while. However, by June 2012, we began receiving over 100 requests a day and 99% were from spammers who wanted to pollute our forum with their links to sites on unrelated topics, or to post pornographic pictures, or add links to sites that will download viruses to visitors' computer. It became a battle we could no longer fight. Therefore, we have permanently suspended the ability to join the forum. As an alternative we ask that if you have a question or comment, please visit our Facebook Page or Google+ Page. This will help us to improve the content of this site for everybody who visits and keep the information free from being polluted by the spammers.

I would like to thank the sources I have found on the Internet in helping me to answer some of the questions I have been asked. I have noted those sources where applicable so you can visit the sites for expanded information.

I would also like to especially thank those of you have written. Some of your letters have been quite a challenge to answer. All have provided me with an opportunity to learn something new or discover new resources for microwave cooking on the Internet. So, don't be shy. Post your question at the forum and I will do my best to answer your question or find what you are looking for. Or, perhaps, you have an answer to a question that will help our visitors.

When this section was initially created, it was a simple task to include all the emails on this one web page. However, the many wonderful letters received continued to grow, and it was necessary to create the forum. Letters that were previously posted on this site have been moved to the closed Microwave Cooking Forum. The links below will take you to the topic at the forum where the letter was moved to. We have left the forum up in a read-only format so that the information will continue to help visitors to our site. If you would like to ask a question of make a comment yourself, please visit our Facebook Page or Google+ Page as our new alternative to using the forum.

This way, as you navigate through this site, you will not have to constantly keep closing browser windows. All links to other pages within this site will open in the current window. If a window does not open when you click on a link, check to see if you are running a pop-up blocker, which you may need to turn off in order for the new browser windows to open.

Except when you order Microwave Cooking for One by mail, we do not actually sell items directly from this site.
