Portmeirion Montesol'Montesol' was designed in felt tip pens while sitting at a cafe table outside the Montesol Hotel in Ibiza where Susan Williams-Ellis and her husband, Euan Cooper-Willis, were having breakfast. The design, launched in 1965, was based on Oriental and Hispano-Moresque textiles and produced in two color ways; blue and green and turquoise and lilac. In the late 1960's the pattern was relaunched on a lime green glaze and named 'Marrakesh'.
