Microwave Cooking for One by Marie T Smith
Shopping for Microwave-Safe Utensils and Other Kitchen Essentials
People often ask, "Do I need to buy new cookware in order to cook
in my microwave oven?" The answer is a resounding, "No!" You probably have an array
of cookware in your kitchen already that is safe to use in the microwave oven. However,
you may want to add to what you already have if you will consistently be cooking in
your microwave oven.
The microwave will produce better results with some dishes you cook
if you have special utensils designed especially for microwave cooking. Please
visit Equipment in the Microwaving Tips section
for more detailed information regarding equipment for your microwave, and a test to make
sure a dish is microwave-safe!
One of the wonderful features of microwave cooking is that you can
cook in the utensil you are going to serve in. If you are going to be entertaining
guests, you might want to add a few items that will coordinate well with your table
setting. The French White line of Corningware is a wonderful example of microwave dishes
that are functional for cooking, and beautiful for serving.
We're constantly searching the web to find great sources
