Spode AsterSpode's Aster dates back to about 1832 when it was known as Chinese Plants and was often produced as a plain print in blue. The border is of two interlacing plants, a chrysanthemum, or aster, and a periwinkle. Pattern number 2/8130 was introduced in about 1926 when the pattern was known as Aster. This version was printed in pink and colored underglaze. Another version printed in grey and colored lime green was introduced in about 1956. The pattern was on Gadroon shape. Spode's Aster was withdrawn in the mid 1980s but reintroduced in the late 1990s as part of The Blue Room Collection You can still add to your collection of Spode Aster.
