Microwave Cooking for One by Marie T SmithShopping for Formal Dinnerware
Spode Blue ColonelIntroduced in 1962. Gold trim adds a luxurious flourish to this bone china pattern inspired by fifteenth-century Chinese porcelain, discovered by Colonel Alfred Copeland. At one time produced on smooth shapes, the current pattern is designed on Spode's deeply fluted Chelsea forms, resulting in a pleasing visual and sculptural feel reminiscent of a pleated fan. Airy, stylized vines rendered in Spode's famous deep blue on a white ground showcase the chrysanthemum, the symbol of a long life of comfort and happiness. Setting a lively table with an extra touch of refinement, Blue Colonel is best cared for when hand-washed. This pattern is not recommended for use in the microwave, oven, or freezer.
