Spode RhineOriginally called ' Rhine ' and was made by John Davenport in the 1830s, the copper engravings were bought by W. T. Copeland in 1887 when Davenports ceased trading. It is a multi-scene pattern and was produced in blue and in pink. The name Rhine was suspended during World War II 1939 - 1945 and the name Severn , the name of an English river, substituted.
