Nutritional value of recipes.

This site is a wonderful discovery I made today. Today I'm starting the weight loss seriously. I will use your site constantly as I 'm not accomplished at cooking, vegetables in particular. I just cooked the Artichoke per your directions.

What food value is there: calories, fat content? Do you have a link to help me monitor food value?

Thank you,
Barbara

Hi Barbara,

I just purchased Easy Livin' Low-Calorie Microwave Cooking: Fast, Easy, Great-Tasting Recipes that Will Turn Your Microwave Into a Dieter's Best Friend by Karen Kangas Dwyer. It just arrived in today's mail so I haven't had a chance to try any of the recipes. Flipping through it I can see that every recipe includes a per-serving Nutritional Analysis and Diabetic exchange. The down side is that the recipes are each for 4 to 6 servings, so I'm going to have to cut those that I like to one or two servings, as it is just my husband and me in our household. We too need to start a serious weight reduction regime.

I'm glad you like the website. Vegetables, especially, are easy in the microwave and taste so much better too because they retain so much more of their nutritional value.

Thank you, thank you for the reply. I'm impressed with your efficiency and enthusiasm. I'll explore all the sites and go back to yours in favorites. I've got to start somewhere!

Barbara

(Note: Since receiving this email, I discovered this wonderful Nutrition Data site, which provides nutrition facts, Calorie counts, and nutrient data for foods and recipes, including fast food and food additives.)
