Looking for Baked Potato Cooker.

I am looking for the utensil that I know I once saw where you would suspend your potato on spikes. I would appreciate any help rendered.

Curtis

Dear Curtis,

During my Internet travels I have not come across such a utensil. However, I always keep emails on file, so if I do come across one I will let you know. Meanwhile, baked potatoes are an easy item to prepare in the microwave without any utensils.

Update - 3/24/02

Hi Curtis!

I was surfing the web tonight, and came across these Microwave Potato Baking Dishes that might suit your needs:

Potato Baking Dishes guarantee the fluffiest, most evenly baked potatoes in less time! Vertical dual spikes direct heat to the center for tip-to-tip baking.

I was surprised to hear from you again but upon reading the message I was thrilled. I ordered one and wanted to let you know that we are very pleased with it.

Hi Curtis,

I would recommend my Microwave Crisper for Baked potatoes. Though I must say that most utensils will cook potatoes. The big secret is to know and trust your cooking times.

Choose evenly sized potatoes, pierce with a fork and space evenly in the dish.

A cover is essential for cooking and standing - it traps steam and softens the skin. Check this address for cooking times: Microwave Cooking Times for Meats & Vegetables.
