I know this is not what your site is for, but as being newly divorced I thought maybe you could help. I’m not sure how to work some of the buttons on my microwave. I know how to cook stuff by just setting the minutes or cooking popcorn, but it has a defrost button and I can’t seem to get it to work.
Any help or where I might get some generic instructions.

Unfortunately, the operating procedures are different for each microwave oven. However, if you will email me back with as much information as you can about the oven: Manufacturer, Model Number, I will do my best to find out how you can obtain an instruction manual for it. Some companies even provide the manuals online so you can download them.

Thank You, I did a search on the Internet but I could not find anything. It is a Sharp Carousel Model R-409AKB Manufactured March 1997. It has a touch pad on the front with presets such as popcorn , beverage, reheat.

You’re in luck. Sharp is one of those companies that provide some of their manuals online. Click on this link to see what manuals are available: Sharp Product Manuals. Your oven is not listed, but I’d bet that the manual for the R-409HK, will provide you with the instructions you need. If not, you can order a replacement manual, by calling 1-800-BE-SHARP (1-800-237-4277).
