Dear Sir,
Do you have a recipe for cooking corn on the cob (with husks on) in the microwave?
Thank you,
Emily
Dear Emily,
As a matter of fact, the recipe for Corn on the Cob in Microwave Cooking for One, calls for the corn to remain in the husk when cooking.
Ingredients:
9-oz ear of corn in husk
1 tbsp. butter
Instructions:
Remove and discard dirty outer leaves of husk. Cut off the bottom stem and immature top portion with a strong knife. Place corn on the oven tray or on bottom of oven. Cook 2:00 (_____) minutes at 100% power. Turn corn over and rotate halfway. Cook 1:00 (_____) minute at 100% power. Wrap corn in 2 paper towels. Set aside until rest of meal is prepared.
Final Preparation:
Remove paper towels from corn. With a paper towel in each hand, strip husk from corn. Discard husks. Rub silk from corn with paper towels. Place corn in corn dish or other appropriate dish.
Put butter on top of corn. Cover corn dish with another corn dish or a piece of waxed paper. Cook 30 (_____) seconds at 100% power to melt butter and heat corn. Roll corn in melted butter and serve.
Notes: This recipe is for one ear of corn. To cook two, double cooking times; to cook three, triple cooking times, etc. Also, the cooking times are for a 700-watt oven. If you have a different wattage oven, convert cooking times using the Conversion Chart.
