Toile by Churchill China
Celebrating the beauty of the French countryside, the Toile collection from Churchill China emulates the traditional Toile de Jouy fabric customarily produced near Versailles. This time-honored technique showcases one distinct color, in this case a choice of black, blue or pink, printed on a white or cream background portraying an 18th Century country scene. In this instance, the design also showcases ancient ruins, floral motifs, and lone birds and butterflies surveying the scene below. Based upon original engravings, Toile utilizes a transfer printing process that has been employed by Churchill China for centuries. With a stylish European feel and subtle scalloped edges, the pattern feels equally at home on a formal or casual table, and is also the perfect design with which to serve afternoon tea. Designed to stand up to frequent use, the dinnerware set can safely be placed in the microwave and dishwasher.
