Valencia by Spode

Valencia was first introduced around 1925 with pattern number 2/7983. A better known version was pattern number S1248, introduced in 1935 on the Chelsea Wicker shape. The pattern is a border design of vine leaves and grapes in blue and green. Both the 1925 and 1935 version were printed and hand colored on glaze. Other versions were produced in different color combinations.

A sheet pattern named Valencia was produced in the late 1990s as part of the Blue Room collection. This version was printed in one color, only available on a limited range and was a different design (pattern number S3467). It is taken from a copper plate engraved in the early 1800s although the pattern is rarely seen from this period.

Spode Valencia is no longer being produced. If you need replacement or additional pieces for your collection of Spode Valencia, monitor this page on a weekly basis for new listings.

When it comes to finding Spode that is difficult to find in stores near you, one of your best resources for acquiring the items you want are sites like Amazon, Etsy, Replacements and eBay, where there are a lot of wonderful finds still in the original boxes. We all receive those odd items as gifts that we have no need for and never use. Yet, one person's junk could be exactly the treasure you want.

Please Note: Not all Spode is safe for use in the microwave. Patterns with gold or platinum decorations around the rim should not be used in your microwave because microwaves can not pass through metal. If in doubt, use this simple test: Is this Utensil Safe for the Microwave?

I am thrilled! There are many more recipes then I expected. I am very excited since my husband often works late and I end up with sandwiches rather then making myself something to eat.. —Barbara Andersen, New York
